day she arrived there. She has been there for

3 weeks already. Man time sure does fly by.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Megan and Scott's

House. There were over 30 people there. It was

wonderful. The weather was great too.

Then we went to Logan and Stayed at Jeremy and Chari's

for a couple of days and all got sick. That wasn't so fun, but

it was nice being with them. Then down to Provo to and a

night at Nathan and Tonya's house. Then to the MTC to

drop off Kira for her mission to Oklahoma City, OK.

No we are back and life goes on. Our house is a little more

quiet now and will be more so when Jacob leaves next month

to live in Utah for his job. We are almost empty nesters.

Kind of wierd. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas

and a Happy new Year.

Last night Kira got a call from our Stake President, who informed her that her mission papers have been sent to Salt Lake City and she should receive her mission call in 2 or 3 weeks. Needless to say that we are very excited. I will definitely post (maybe with video) where and when she will be serving.

We had a great time at the Gage family reunion

in Cedar City, Ut. Megan and Scott did a wonderful

job planning it and allowed all of us to stay at their home.

I am sure they are still recuperating. It was fun to be

able to see Jeremy and Chari and of course our

grandaughter Sadie.

Before we went to the reunion, we went to Rexburg, Id

and attended my uncle Ray Gallup's funeral. I was able to see

my cousins I hadn't seen in over 20 years. I am glad we

made the trip up to see them.

Jacob has really enjoyed being on his High School

Swim Team. He has lettered all four years. Last

week he took 2nd place in the 500 yard Freestyle

at the High Desert Invitational and got a Silver Medal.

Way to go Jacob! He will be graduating next month.

That is hard to believe that our youngest child will be

out of high school. Does that make me officially old?

St. Anthony, Idaho. Jeremy gave her a name and
a blessing and he did a great job.

We hated to leave our baby girl, but alas, we had to
go back to our home and start working again so we
can pay the bills. At least we have Skype so we can

I haven't posted in awhile because not much has been happening. We get to go see Jeremy and Chari next week and we will finally get to meet Sadie, our grandaughter, for the first time. We are way excited. While we are there, we will also be blessing her at Chari's parents ward in St. Anthony, Id. We are working on getting the Expedition ready for the trip. Had the tires rotated and balanced, oil change, new wipers, brakes checked and having the 4 wheel drive fixed. I think it is supposed to snow during our trip so I want to be ready. Jacob has started his swim season. He comes home pretty tired from practice. This is his fourth and final year for high school swim team. I gues that is all for now. Pretty boring I know. I will post some more from Idaho.

I really don't have too much to say. I know that is hard to believe for some of you. Now that the holidays are over, it's back to the grindstone. I did take the scouts up to the mountains for a snow campout. There wasn't a whole lot of snow left and what was there had turned into ice. I think everyone of us fell at least once. I personally went down three times, gracefully of course. Okay there was nothing graceful about it. Elana brought up the young women in the morning to join us for breakfast. I made dutchoven mountain man breakfast. It was quite tasty. I do enjoy cooking outdoors. And indoors for that matter. If anyone has any tips for me to become a better chef (other than culinary school since I can't afford that) I will take free tips from my faithful followers. Oh wait, I don't have any followers. I mean those of you who check out this blog every now and then. Every now and then we get on Skype and see our son Jeremy and his wife Chari, and our grandaughter, Sadie. We really enjoy that. We are looking forward to going next month to visit them and be there for her blessing. I am sure I will have lots of photos then. Until next time. Adieu.

Happy New Year from the Gallup's of California!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. We were able to go to Independence, Ca. and visit our very good friuends, Jeff and Renee Rodriguez and their family. We got there on New Year's Eve about 4:00 pm. Stayed up way too late playing Wii. On New Year's Day we made our traditional Tamales (Chicken, Beef and Jalepeno/Pepper Jack Cheese). Ate way too much and I watched USC beat Penn State. We learned a new domino game called Cardinal Mexican Train. I don't know why it is called that, but is kind of fun (and I am not a big game person). We got home on Saturday about 2:00 pm. Unloaded the car and then Jake and I finished cuttin up the rest of our pine tree. All we have left now is the stump. I think Jacob needs to build some character and muscle over the next several days. Then we proceeded to watch Utah beat Alabama. That was AWESOME! I am not a Ute's fan, but I sure wanted them to beat Bama Tide. Our Grandauther Sadie is getting bigger. We got to see her via Skype video last night and she is soooo precious. We can't wait to go see her and hold her. We will go up for her blessing mid February. Well I guess that is all for now. No new photos right now. Sorry.

Over all we had a great Christmas. As a
family we got a Wii and about 4 games,
including a Wii Fit. That was our big
present for the family. We got to play
Mario Kart online with Jeremy and
Chari. That was alot of fun. We had
Skype going so we could see and talk
to each other while we were playing.

Now comes the wonderful news from

Jeremy and Chari.

Here is our new grandaughter, Sadie Rae Gallup.

Born December 27, 2008 at 10:48 am (MST).

She weighs 7 lbs 10 oz. She is 20 1/2" long or

It was almost as good as being there. Thanks for
thinking of bringing your laptop with you Jeremy
so we could be apart of it.

because a big one fell right where it was. Then we decided

to pull the cars into the back yard. I hope I can get them out later.

No problem.

We,(by we I mean me and several scouts and a few adults), spent a week in Big Bear, Ca. hitting different off-road trails. On day 3, my jeeps rear end started making aloud clunking noise. Some bearing had come loose. Had to be towed back to town. I was told it isn't a 4 wheel drive trip unless you break something. I certainly succeeded indoing just that. We are already planning next years trip.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We fed the Missionaires and tried to make it so it was like at home for them. Elana made them each their favorite pies. Homemade dressing, potatoes, gravy, etc. We, the Gallup's have so much to be thankful for and are truly blessed. We did miss having Jeremy and Chari, but it is a long ways for them to travel and she is due in about a month now. Hope everyone else had a wonderful holiday.

Hello all,

We are new to this whole blogging thing. Not exactly sure what to do yet. Let's see what I can say. We live in the Palmdale area of California in a little town called Lake Los Angeles, where there is no lake, in the Antelope Valley, where there are no antelope. We have been in our home here for 14 years now. Our oldest is Jeremy and he and his wife are living in Logan, Ut and going to school there. They are expecting their first child (yep we are going to be grand parents) in January 2009. Then Tashina, she is in the Day Star program in Lancaster and seems to be enjoying that. Kira finally finished Cosmetology school this year and is licensed and everything. Jacob, the youngest is a senior at Littlerock High. He is on the Varsity swim team. I hope I can remember to keep up with this thing. We are looking forward to the holidays this year. Our little family will be singing at the annual Creche' Festival this year.
